The Mass. Memories Road Show (MMRS) is a state-wide digital history project with the ambitious goal of visiting every community in the Commonwealth. In celebration of our town’s 300th, Lexington has the honor of being selected as the next stop in this grant-sponsored program.

Everyone who lives and works in Lexington is invited to contribute to this unique community event by bringing up to three photographs. The images can represent you, your family, your community, in the past or recent times ─ as long as they are meaningful to you personally.

Bring your old or new photos in their original format. If they are prints, we prefer you bring them unframed. If your selected photos are digital image files, you may bring them on a CD or a thumb drive. The MMRS team will scan or download the photos and help you record your story.

While any photos are welcome, here are some ideas to start you thinking:

·       snapshots and candids;
·       shots of special occasions such as family reunions and weddings;
·       shots of civic life such as military service and community involvement;
·       shots of events, such as club meetings, community celebrations, etc.;
·       shots of places that are special to you.

Together, we’ll create a snapshot of our community. The MMRS will bring together Lexingtonians of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds in one place at one time. It will celebrate each person's family history and connection to the town — whether they have lived here for generations or just arrived.

Curious? To see what to expect, watch a video clip featuring a neighboring community’s recent Mass. Memories Road Show:

Help spread the word! Please pass this letter of invitation and flyer on to everyone you know.
