What is your favorite memory? Your favorite photograph?
Help us grow our 300th Anniversary Memories Collection
Do you have antique photograph albums from Lexington?
Do you enjoy taking photographs right now?
Do you sketch? Paint? Sculpt?
Have you made any original maps?
The 300th Anniversary Committee is pleased to announce the creation of the 300th Anniversary Image Collection. This Collection will feature images representing life in Lexington, Massachusetts from 1713 - 2013 and we need your help to create this very special town resource.
Consider submitting a photograph of your favorite spot in Lexington. Or, send us an image of a sketch, drawing or sculpture you made while living in Lexington, MA, or of original maps, letters and logos. The 300th Committee will use some (but not all!) images in a variety of ways that will enrich our community's celebration of Lexington's history.
Some images will be used on this website as part of a revolving slide show. Some images may be used on commemorative
t-shirts, hats or pins that may be offered by the town. Others will be incorporated in the pre-show at Opening Ceremonies, the Town Album presented at the Closing Ceremonies, or in broadcasts from our local cable television network, LexMedia. Images you choose to submit will become the property of the town and the 300th Anniversary Committee, and may be shared by other people for research or educational use.
Is there a great story behind the image you'd like to submit? Please tell us the story behind the picture, too! We are always on the lookout for stories about Lexington. The stories collected over the 300 years since the founding of Lexington help us understand what Lexington was like long ago. Stories we collect will help people 100 years from now use to understand what Lexington was like in our era.
Memories may be submitted in various forms, including stories, essays, videos or images. Please look through your pictures and submit your favorite Lexington image for consideration for the Anniversary Collection.
