We Are Lexington - And So Are You!  Many, many, volunteers helped the town launch a historic year, Lexington's Tercentenary.  If you volunteered for any part of the 9-month celebration, your work was appreciated by the Board of Selectmen at the Cary Memorial Building on June 2nd.  Hundreds of volunteers attended the event and enjoyed the live music provided by Eric Eid-Reiner and his band, light fare from Neillio's, and birthday cake from Wilson Farms.  Activities included Make-Your-Own-300th-Souvenir-Button, an official 300th Signature Banner, and the chance to mingle with volunteers from every one of the 14+ events held from September, 2012 through May, 2013.  Lexington will be 300 until March 31, 2014.  Enjoy the rest of our Anniversary year!

What an amazing evening of music! The Lexington Bicentennial Band, The Lexington Pops Chorus, The Lexington Symphony and the Master Singers. Two commissioned, world-premieres!  Over 275 musicians and volunteers; it was a glorious evening, indeed. Thank you from Chair, Susan Navia.

More than 1,000 spectators came out for the big day to watch the Essex Ball Club compete against Lexington’s Finest (made up of Lexington Police and Fire officers) and against a team of Lexington Baseball Manager and Volunteers. Thank you from co-chairs, Colleen Smith, Allyson Huntington and Betsy Wilkinson.

Town Clock and Time Capsule Dedications

Who let's a cold and rainy day get in the way of a once in three hundred years dedication? Not Lexingtonians! Lexington’s former and current Selectmen joined more than 200 people on a chilly, soggy day to welcome the town’s permanent monument to our tercentennial.  The 300th Anniversary clock was donated by the Rotary Club of Lexington and the Lions Club of Lexington and the Time Capsules were donated by Stan Abkowitz.  Thank you from The Clock & Time Capsule Planning Team:  Cristina Burwell, Carin Casey, Fawn Dare, Kirsten Hede-Brierley, Marie Hill, Polly Kienle, Leslie Masson, Cheryl Meadow, Betsy Sarles, Corinne Steigerwald, Martha Wood, Judy Zola, Sandy Kahn, Tanya Morrisett and Jessie Steigerwald.
