About the 300th Essay                              Click Here to Submit Your Essay

The 300th Anniversary Committee is pleased to collect and present essays about various eras and organizations in Lexington's history.  In 300 years our community has grown in experience and in the diversity of our residents.  We were at the center of the start of the American Revolution and our residents served in the Civil War, World Wars I & II, Vietnam and more recent international conflicts.  We have an early history as a farming community and residents continue to value farming traditions as well as arts and crafts.  Technology has been an important part of our evolution and innovation helped us prosper.

Essays in our collection are organized by era and by theme.  If you would like to submit an essay, please contact us.  Space for essays is somewhat limited, but we will read all submissions and try to respond within four weeks.  No remuneration is available for essays.  Submission of an essay requires your consent to have the essay appear on this website and in any format the 300th Anniversary Committee or the Town of Lexington may elect to use.  We will always endeavor to provide author credit when we publish or share your work.  However, the internet is a vast resource and we advise you to consider carefully before submitting an essay.  Be sure that you are willing to share your writing with the world.

We hope you will enjoy the Essay Collection, and consider contributing.
